Hello,

I’m a psychotherapist who works with both individuals and couples to help them with their relationships. I understand that coming to a therapist to talk about your relationships can be daunting so I will try my utmost to make you feel comfortable, safe and supported. I will work diligently with you, dedicating the time and space you need to explore the things you bring and I will always try to help you to find a positive way forward.

I live in York, North Yorkshire, with my partner and our faithful dog. We have 4 children, all now young adults. I love walking and outdoor activities and, come rain or shine, always try to fit time for these into my day.  At various times I, like you, have encountered challenges in life. I bring the wisdom and empathy gained through my own life experiences, extensive professional education, qualifications and skills, and experience gained from working in a wide variety of therapy settings, to my work as a therapist.

More about me

As an individual and couple relationship and psychosexual therapist (sometimes referred to as a sex therapist) I work with both individuals and couples who want to benefit from specialist counselling to explore how their relationships, including their sexual relationships, or experiences affect them.  I can help you to gain a deeper understanding of your relationships by working through the things that have led you to seek therapy and helping you to find a way forward which can improve your relationships and well-being.

I have worked as a therapist since 2010 and have a wealth of experience having completed several qualifications in psychotherapy and psychosexual therapy and worked in a wide variety of specialist therapy settings in London and Yorkshire.  I have seen clients all of ages, from 8 – 80, from many different backgrounds, with different types of relationships and with many different types of therapy need.  I have an MSc in Individual and Couple Relationship and Psychosexual Therapy from the renowned Tavistock Relationships in London, where I have also worked as Visiting Clinician. I also have a Post Graduate Diploma in Counselling and Psychotherapy from York St John University and a BSc in Psychology.  This means I have skills and experience in psychodynamic, psychosexual, person centred and developmental therapy and I combine learning and approaches from all of these areas in my work.  The so the therapy I offer is always carefully tailored to your individual needs and circumstances. You will be in safe hands.

I am a Registered Member of BACP (British Association of Counsellors and Psychotherapists) and COSRT (College of Sexual and Relationship Therapists) and abide by their professional codes of practice and ethics.

I work with individuals and couples over age 18; I offer therapy for both individuals and couples on-line via Zoom, and a limited number of face to face sessions.
